Speech-Language Pathologist (Per Diem) – Assistive Technology & Accessibility Evaluations

At 7TH & Madison Extensions of Empowerment, we’re expanding our statewide network of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to deliver Assistive Technology (AT) evaluations, training, and follow-up support.

This is a per diem, flexible position with in-home fieldwork available across all 21 New Jersey counties—including Atlantic, Bergen, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Essex, Gloucester, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Passaic, Salem, Somerset, Sussex, Union, and Warren.

Position Highlights

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-home Assistive Technology (AAC/AT) and Accessibility evaluations
  • Assess communication and functional needs to recommend appropriate AT devices
  • Develop individualized evaluation reports aligned with member goals and State of New Jersey standards
  • Fit, adapt, and train members on AT or AAC device use as needed
  • Provide education and technical support to members, families, and care teams
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards in all member interactions
  • Incorporate product photos and accessible links for recommended AT, DME, or EM solutions within each report to support clarity and implementation

Qualifications

  • Active New Jersey Speech-Language Pathology License (required)
  • Experience with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, traumatic brain injury, or aging populations (preferred)
  • Background in Assistive Technology and Accessibility evaluations (required)
  • Strong written documentation and communication skills
  • Collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered approach
  • Reliable transportation and a valid New Jersey driver’s license

Experience:

  • AAC / Assistive Technology Evaluations – 2 years (Required)
  • Working with people with developmental disabilities – 1 year (Required)

License / Certification:

  • New Jersey Speech-Language Pathology License (Required)
  • Driver’s License (Required)
