At 7TH & Madison Extensions of Empowerment, we help individuals with disabilities, their families, educators, and employers discover and learn to use the technology that best supports their goals for independence, communication, and accessibility.
Our center provides:
Assistive Technology (AT) evaluations and training
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessments and support
Home accessibility and environmental modification evaluations
Professional development and hands-on training for caregivers and professionals
Be sure to explore our Technology Lending Center — a free service for New Jersey residents that allows you to borrow AT and AAC tools for a 4–6 week trial period to find the best fit before purchase.

Our licensed professionals conduct personalized evaluations, device trials, and training to identify technology solutions that meet each person's unique goals and needs.
We proudly accept DDD funding and work closely with families, caregivers, and Support Coordinators across New Jersey to ensure access to tools that enhance quality of life and promote long-term success.

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY WHAT IS ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY (AT)?
Assistive Technology (AT) is any item or piece of equipment that improves independence and access for people with disabilities. There are many types of AT. Some are low tech and some are high tech.
LOW TECH AT
Low Tech AT are basic devices that don't require much training and are usually low-cost.
HIGH TECH AT
High Tech AT are more complex devices that may be expensive. You may need training to learn how to use high tech AT devices.
